The annual Camel River Festival for 2016 will be staged on 16th July at the Jubilee Fields in Wadebridge. The event has grown to become a major summer attraction, particularly the “raft race” in which contestants have built their home-made contraptions and wear fancy dress. They have to navigate a circuit from the town centre to Anneka’s Bridge and back. High water will be around 1555, so the race will start probably just prior to then. The participants with the best themed raft win prizes. There’ll be a marquee in which various businesses display their wares, a bouncy castle for the children, a full bar and food area with entertainment by a specially booked band.

There is a walking and cycle trail that runs for miles alongside the river and cycles can be hired at various places in the town.
